As well as helping each other, the Association receives support from a number of organisations throughout the year. Grange Manor’s Residents’ Association receives a grant as part of the Waterford City and County Council Supporting Communities Fund. This money assists with the cost of maintaining the estate for residents. We are very grateful for this help but sadly the cost of grass cutting is far greater than any grant can meet. As such the annual maintenance fund is entirely dependent upon the goodwill of residents. To keep our estate looking good we need to meet the cost of a contractor to cut the common green areas.

Each year the Association holds a number of events. These encourage neighbours in the estate to meet up and get to know each other better. Building a stronger community that lives together. Events include table quiz nights, open air fun days at Easter and summer and Hallowe’en. We try to organise festivities for children and families alike to enjoy. Quite often, we have been very fortunate to receive donations of prizes from many local businesses in the area. For this we are always hugely grateful to the local stores that are part of our wider community.

Of course our support of each other is what makes any community a nice place to live. Looking out for each other, lending a helping hand if you can is a great way to make lasting friendships.

To support each other, to build a better community – we are fortunate to have help from many
